Range Bands
Range bands are colored zones drawn on the gauge axis track between a start and end value. They are used to visualize threshold regions such as normal, warning, or critical zones. Available on Radial Gauge and Linear Gauge types, configured in the Axis Design step.
Difference from Conditional Formatting: Range bands show fixed value regions as always-visible colored zones. Conditional Formatting dynamically changes a pointer's color based on its current value. Both can be used together.
How to Access
- Navigate to the Axis Design step in the wizard (Radial or Linear Gauge).
- Find the Range Bands (Ranges) section.
- Click Add Band to create a new band.
Parameters
All Gauge Types
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Start Value | The value where the colored band begins on the scale (e.g. 0). |
| End Value | The value where the colored band ends on the scale (e.g. 60). |
| Color | Fill color of the range band. |
Additional Fields for Linear Gauge
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Start Width | Thickness of the band at its start edge (px). Set different start/end widths for a tapered effect. |
| End Width | Thickness of the band at its end edge (px). |
| Edge Style | End cap shape: bothFlat (flat), bothCurve (rounded), or mixed. |
| Position | Band position relative to the track: inside, outside, cross. |
Typical Color Coding
| Zone | Example Value Range | Color |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 0 – 60 | Green |
| Warning | 60 – 85 | Yellow / Orange |
| Critical | 85 – 100 | Red |
Tips
- Add multiple bands to color the entire scale; bands should be contiguous (end value of one = start value of the next).
- On Linear Gauge, enabling Use Range Color For Axis tones the scale labels to match the band colors at each position.
