1. Review the Type List
In the left column, the 15 chart types of the Cartesian group are listed; the 7 types in the Stacked flow are below.
2. Stacked Cartesian Types (7 charts)
| Chart Type | Typical Use | Y Axis Display |
|---|---|---|
| Stacked Area Series | Stacked area trend | Absolute value |
| Stacked Line Series | Stacked line trend | Absolute value |
| Stacked Column Series | Shift/category breakdown | Absolute value |
| Stacked Bar Series | Horizontal stacked, long category name | Absolute value |
| Stacked Column 100 Series | 100% normalized vertical bar | 0-100 (automatic) |
| Stacked Bar 100 Series | 100% normalized horizontal bar | 0-100 (automatic) |
| Stacked Line 100 Series | 100% normalized line (trend share) | 0-100 (automatic) |
Absolute vs 100%
- Absolute Stacked: When you want to see the actual value of each component and the total (e.g., daily total production + product breakdown).
- 100% Stacked: The total is not visible; at each point the share of components matters (e.g., how the product mix changed from day to day).
3. Confirm the Type
When a card is selected, it is highlighted with a bold green border.
Click the Next button at the top right.
Proceeding Without Type Selection
If no type is selected, Next issues a warning: "Please select a chart type first".
Types in the Wrong Flow
For non-Stacked Cartesian types there are separate flows:
- Line / Area / Spline / Column / Bar / Step Line → Standard Flow
- Range Column → Range Column Flow
- Waterfall → Waterfall Flow
