Stacked Column 100 Series
Stacked Column 100 Series normalizes each bar to 100%; rather than the absolute value, the proportional share of components is shown. Used to compare how shares change between different periods or categories.
Prerequisite
This chart type can only be selected in step 2 of the Cartography Widget Wizard. If you have not started widget creation, start the wizard first; an appropriate Compass record is also required.
When to Use
| Scenario | Why Stacked Column 100? |
|---|---|
| Product family share within monthly production | Each month is 100% — absolute volume irrelevant |
| Change in downtime type ratio over time | Question: "Is the failure share rising?" |
| Department spending mix analysis | Total budget may differ but the ratio is visible |
Total Magnitude Is Lost
All bars are equal in height in this type. Even if production in March is twice that of February, the bar heights look the same. If total magnitude also matters, use Stacked Column.
Data Structure
Same as Stacked Column; normalization is automatic:
| Column | Type | Example |
|---|---|---|
| X column | TEXT / DATE |
month, line |
| Y column | NUMERIC |
production_count |
| Stack By column | TEXT |
product_family |
9-Step Summary — For Stacked Column 100 Series
